Focus areas of innovation
- Health industry, based on the Research Centre of Molecular Medicine (RCMM), research in public health and natural sciences;
- Functional food development, based on RCMM, research in natural and agricultural sciences;
- Informatics, strongly connected with all research areas;
- Environmental technology and energetics, based on research in natural and agricultural sciences dealing with environmental industry and energetics.
Technology transfer and project participation
Under the EU' s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) the University of Debrecen has 35 on-going projects, worth a total of six million euros. The projects target both innovation and a range of societal challenges, building a bridge to Horizon 2020, the next funding programme for EU research from 2014-2020.
The University of Debrecen has projects in the fields of Health; Food, Agriculture and Biotechnology; Information and Communication Technologies; Environment; and Research Infrastructures. UD researchers also benefit from the Marie-Curie Actions.
